Located in east-central Kentucky Magoffin County has an area of 392 square miles and a population of 13 thousand citizens with Salyersville serving as county seat. Magoffin offers several outdoor recreation opportunities from kayaking or whitewater rafting on Middle Fork River to horseback riding or hunting at Stonecoal Lake Wildlife Management Area. Agriculture also remains important part of Magoffin’s economy with farmers growing hay, corn and soybeans being primary products produced locally.
