Johnson County is located in western Arkansas with a population estimated at 25,000 people. It covers an area of 598 square miles though only 175 miles are land while 423 miles are water surface area. Clarksville serves as the county seat for this rural town that looks to nature for many outdoor activities like camping, hunting and fishing among others. Founded in 1833 and named after Benjamin Johnson who was state representative at the time, it still continues to be an attractive place to live or visit due to its vibrant culture and heritage.
